Wild Life

Caught this little rascal in the house.

Found him crawling across the back of the sofa.

Thought it was a scorpion at first glance!

 I caught him and released him by the pond

and he wouldn't get off of my hand.

 And after I put him down he let me catch him again!

Does that make me a Lizard Whisperer?  

 A beautifully patterned Gopher snake at
an RV park where one of my passengers lived.

 He made his rounds around the park keeping the rodent population down...

Noticed this odd looking bee fly thing on our orange tree.

Looked it up in Google.

  You will never guess what it is! ...

  It is a 

BEE FLY!

Found this little armored creature in my garden

It was dead..

 But when I left it alone it came back to life!

BLUE DEATH FEIGNING BEETLE

So I put it in a jar and fed it a piece of tomato.

       I kept it as a pet for several months until it escaped.


This is what they call a Desert Iguana 

Whip Snake
We see a lot of these in the South-West
They are harmless so please don't kill them

 A baby King Snake.
Sadly run over by a car.

If you ever find one alive please don't kill it
They kill rattle snakes!
